How We Support Hotels

  • We're not a typical hotel marketing agency. We are not a typical hotel marketing agency. Most partners stop at awareness. We connect directly to a paying guest through our travel advisor network. The campaigns we run do not sit at the top of a funnel waiting for someone else to convert. We close the loop.

Three things that make this work:

    1. A working network, not a Rolodex. We have active relationships with US-based travel advisors placing high-spend travelers into Asia. Hotel partners are introduced into that flow directly.

    2. Brand-first, not channel-first. Before we market anything, we make sure your property has a clear, honest story that international travelers can understand and connect with. We bring out what makes your property unique: its character, its perspective, and why it is worth choosing.

    3. Reach beyond the luxury cliché. We work with travelers who look beyond the obvious choices and want something more intentional, which means our partners reach audiences other agencies cannot.

  • Strategy + Brand Story

    • Brand narrative and positioning for international audiences

    • Talking points that turn quirks into intention (eclectic design, adaptive reuse, regional location)

    • Honest destination framing we don't oversell, which builds long-term trust with press and travelers

    International PR + Press

    • Press strategy aimed at travel, design, hospitality, and wellness titles

    • Press kits: messaging, founder quotes, image selects, fact sheet

    • Announcement moments tied to packaging, seasonality, and product launches

    Creator + Influencer Programs

    • Identifying the right creator types — Japan/Asia travel, design, wellness, family

    • Hosted-stay programs with clear deliverables and usage rights

    • High-fit storytelling rather than broad spend

Komasa Travel Booking Layer (the part that makes us different)

    • We package the hotel experience into a bookable itinerary: transfers, onward planning, optional add-ons

    • Direct relationships with US travel advisors who place real, high-spend bookings

    • A simple landing page or sub-page that explains the experience in language US travelers respond to

    • This is how awareness becomes revenue.

    Inbound Marketing + Conversion

    • Customer-journey audit (mobile + desktop), suite/room story above-the-fold

    • Booking-flow friction audit: currency clarity, fees, trust signals, language support

    • SEO basics, email capture, and small test-and-learn paid media programs

    • Monthly reporting

    • Independent boutique hotels with a strong point of view

    • Hospitality groups working on creative development projects — converting historic buildings, creating destination-led spaces, or building hotel clusters around a neighborhood or concept

    • Properties in regional locations that want to reach international travelers

    • Brands that want exposure beyond the standard luxury Japan circuit

Testimonials

“Sophia and the team at Komasa have an exceptional understanding of what American luxury travelers expect - and they consistently exceed it, opening doors and crafting experiences that go far beyond anything you'd find online, making the investment well worth it whether you are visiting for the first or fifth time. Her taste is impeccable, and you can feel confident knowing every detail has been thoughtfully considered. Her team truly listens and tailors each trip to the individual client, with partners who are a pleasure to work with. I've traveled to Japan many times, have a deep love and respect for the culture, and thought I knew it well. And after spending a few days exploring rural Japan and local neighborhoods with Mario, founder of Q-Inc, I realized there's still so much more to discover and can't wait to return - the Komasa way.”

- Grace Park, Indagare

“Sophia and her partners at Komasa Collection have become an indispensable part of how we plan Japan for our clients. Q's proposals are rich with expertise, thoughtful input, and the kind of local relationships you simply can't manufacture - a reflection of Sophia's keen eye for exceptional talent. She pairs that instinct with her own deep knowledge, always ready to offer fresh ideas and ensure no detail slips through. It's a true partnership, and one I trust implicitly with our most discerning travelers.”

- Joanna Kuflik, Marchay

“Working with Sophia is wonderful; not only is she always available, but she has a light, bright energy that makes her a pleasure to deal with each and every time. Plus, she has excellent taste, and I trust her implicitly. When I have inquiries for places I’ve not yet booked, I will feel confident in her recommendations and her partners in those countries.”

- Meredith Alexander, Fora

“I am so fortunate to have been connected to Sophia and the wonderful partners that she represents at Komasa Collection. Sophia has excellent taste and a great eye. Her approach to travel is thoughtful and meticulous. I can honestly say that in my 15 years in luxury travel, Sophia is one of a (very) small handful of people in the travel industry that I trust implicitly—I trust her recommendations, her connections, and her insights.”
